Remember Your Notes - From Start to Finish

Life is discovery or it is nothing; life is adventure or it’s jail.
— May Natalie Tabak

I wanted to share the stages of my painting progress. I’m going to start doing video, but for now, I thought you might like to see how I created “Remember UR Notes”. I packed my wagon and started this piece on the beach. I wanted sand to be a part of the texture. Why? Because I live at the beach and I’m trying to connect to this new place I call home.

First layers of paint and lots of sand- back in the studio after the day at the beach. Lots of red. It’s hot here.

In my Florida studio mapping and finding images on the picture plane hidden in the textures and marks.. You’ll also note the a bunch of smaller works that are currently in progress.

Another 8 hours of work… I’m seeing numbers, critters, and landscapes emerge. I’m imagining that I have eyeballs all over my head. How would the world look if I had another eye on the top of my head and under my chin? I’m guessing my viewpoint would be fragmented - yet whole. I’m digging the various perspectives all happening from the same vantage point.

12 hours later…
